People with disabilities have to face more within the health care system and obtaining access to care. Disability is not the same as poor health, persons with disabilities are less likely to work or have to work less hours and many have to obtain employer-sponsored health insurance. My paper focuses on access to health care for persons with disabilities (for me it is Multiple Sclerosis). In this paper I will discuss utilization and cost of services, and health insurance coverage of persons with disabilities. After being diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2008 I wanted to know more about the process of chronic care managing. Once a person is diagnosis with a chronic disease there are steps a person has to go through within the health care department; from scheduling tests, meeting with specialist, confirming what is covered on your health insurance and support groups. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an example of a chronic disabling neurological disease requiring specialty care and coord ination. MS is the most common progressive neurological disorder of young adults, the median age of onset is 30 years, an age when many are starting careers and families I was 32 years old when I was first diagnosis in May 2008; I was having a difficult time walking and really bad back pain.
